On Sunday 14 May, they are hosting a big book swap and raffle alongside their usual opening hours to raise money for the local mental health and wellbeing charity.

You can also help by following their page, visiting their website at www.peppersasafeplace.co.uk and sharing what they do with your friends

At Pepper's - A Safe Place, there is no charge, no agenda and no pressure. Just an opportunity to meet a friendly face, take some time out to improve your mental health and look after your mind.

Pepper's offer multiple drop-in sessions a week at which, you can relax with a cup of tea or coffee, chat with others, share experiences or just take some time out.

There are often additional activities, ranging from cookery and art classes to tai chi sessions for calming relaxation, music making, first-aid training and film nights. It's all there to help you meet new people, regain your confidence and get you back into the swing of things.

Pepper's have two centres, one in the heart of Melton Mowbray and the other centrally lcoated on Oakham High Street.

There's no membership, no payment and no fees, just a space for you to enjoy when you feel up to it or need a little company. If you have particular skills and talents you can share those as well and make Pepper's a place for self-expression and co-operation between friends.

Oakham Book Swap will be supporting the charity all month, so head down to the there Tyne Road venue to join in. See their Facebook page for more information and opening times.
