Rutland libraries are offering free access to some of the UK’s most popular magazines through a new online service.
Rutland Library Service members can read more than 130 full-colour digital magazine titles including BBC Good Food Magazine, Amateur Gardening, The Economist, Men’s Fitness, Empire, Top Gear and GQ.
The eMagazines service is being provided through RBdigital and can be accessed on computer or via an app.
There are no fees or limit to the number of both the latest issues and a range of back issues that can be downloaded - all you need is your library card.
You can try out the new service on your own device or one of several library tablets at Oakham Library on Tuesday, 23 July, when there will be a free ‘Mags & Mugs’ coffee morning between 9.30am and 11.30am.
Councillor Lucy Stephenson, Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure at Rutland County Council, said: “This is just the latest in a long line of fantastic services that people in Rutland can access through our outstanding network of local libraries.
"Much like our eBooks service, we think eMagazines will be very popular among library members.
“You really are spoiled for choice in terms of what you can read. It’s completely free and easy to use – you simply need to be a registered member at your local library.”
