Father's Day was lively this year in Rutland, and saw hundreds flock to enjoy live music, a bike meet, a visit from superheroes and more across the county.
Sunday 16 June 2024, Father's Day in Rutland went off with a bang.
Events took place across the county, from meals to music and bikes to barnyards, and at Oakham Nub News we tried to capture as much of the fun as possible!
Kicking the day off for the petrol head dads out there, a huge fleet of Triumph Rockets pulled in to Oakham Castle and Market Place from 11am, where the riders and passengers enjoyed the sunshine and a spot to eat before heading on to their next destination at 2pm.
Cutts Close was a hive of activity from 2pm, where set up began for The Houndogs, who put on a show once again at the bandstand.
The trio of brothers delighted crowds with a range of rockabilly hits.
Local reader Megan also shared some of her images from the day:
A crowd estimated to be over 600 also enjoyed ice cream, pizza from GRIFF's, drinks from The Grainstore and Ovation, as well as a tombola hosted by Oakham Town Council, which raised funds for the Royal British Legion and other charities.
Dads also enjoyed a trip to Rutland Farm Park, where superheroes made the day extra special for the big kids and small!
There was also a new addition at the farm: a baby alpaca who is already enjoying all of the attention from staff and visitors to the Uppingham Road attraction.
And of course, fans enjoyed watching England take a narrow victory against Serbia in the 2024 Euros.
