A new programme, the Pioneer Cadet Awards, will be launching in Rutland this September.

The Pioneer Cadet Awards offer a journey of personal development for Year 4, 5 and 6 children. The programme builds children's self-confidence and develops self-esteem through challenge, commitment and achievement.

Delivered by the founder, Laurence Davis, and primary school teacher, Claire Ruskin , each award develops core skills essential for personal development.

Children can work their way up the programme, completing Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. Each award contains seven sessions.

These sessions will focus on:

  1. Presenting Ourselves
  2. Keeping Safe and Helping Out
  3. The Pioneer Way
  4. Pioneer Challenges
  5. Make It
  6. Target Sports
  7. Brilliant Baking

Each award furthers the skills learned in the last, and encourage friendly competition, team building skills and teach useful life-skills.
