The Lions Club of Rutland is delighted to have made two donations following their very successful bottle tombola at the recent Langham Street Market.

The popular event was back on this year, on Bank Holiday Monday, August 30, after taking a break last year due to the pandemic.

The first donation (pictured top) was received by Pippa Gorman for Pepper's, A Safe Place, the mental health charity in Oakham.

Pepper's offers a safe space for anyone who wishes to talk about their health issues and is the mayoral charity this year for Oakham's town mayor Zoe Nealson.

The second donation was received by Jenny Perry for Rainbows Children's Hospice in Loughborough .

The hospice has been open since 1994 offering support to children and the people who love them most

Alan Grey, President, the Lions Club of Rutland, said: "Many thanks to the great Rutland public who donated a fantastic 200 bottles which generated £1,000 for the two donations."

He added the club is busily working on its annual fireworks display and will be announcing details shortly.
