A local business based in the heart of Oakham, Grayson Lewis Financial Planning "supports people who take a proactive approach to financial planning and are looking for more than just investment growth." 

The forward-thinking practice for aspirational individuals, families and business owners opened in January 2023, and moved into the former home of The Brew & Roast Co, 4 Knights Yard in the June.

The business is run by husband and wife duo, Nick and Kirsty Henbrey, who manage a multi-talented team which they "value immensely". 

Raised in Oakham, Nick joined the Royal Navy and travelled around the world while serving on submarines. After completing his training, he found himself permanently based in Scotland. Here is where the former Oakham School pupil met his wife, Kirsty, who was a Police officer at the time. 

Unable to resist the tradition, scenery and community feel of Rutland, the pair relocated to Oakham, where they have become a part of the thriving business network along Gaol Street.

Nick explained: "We have a multi-talented team that can help a range of customers, from business owners to those looking for assistance as they head into retirement. Joining them in their slick but cosy offices are Caroline and Will, dedicated team members who strive to support you, whatever your financial goals. 

Caroline is a Paraplanner and works for the company full time, providing technical expertise and nurturing client relationships. 

Nick said: "Caroline is an absolute game changer for us. She has joined as a full time paraplanner, and has 10 years experience. Paraplanning is an essential profession within our industry and doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Paraplanners support advisers in researching our client circumstances, report writing and documenting our advice. They also provide a valuable challenge to advisers to ensure we have considered all angles for a client before delivering our recommendations. Having Caroline onboard to provide this service in house is hugely beneficial to our clients." 

Caroline, who is proud to be at the company, added: "With over a decade of experience within wealth management, I am passionate about what I do and always strive to develop my industry knowledge further to support our clients and deliver an unparalleled service. Will is also a stalwart of the company and, despite only joining the team earlier this year, has jumped in enthusiastically after six years as a pro rugby player. 

Nick introduced the Associate Financial Planner: "Will is a fantastic example to any new entrant into the industry. Will career changed five years ago following a career as a professional rugby player. Since he made that change he has relentlessly pursued any improvement in his professional development. 

"He chose to spend his early stages in the industry working in the support team. He wanted to gain a rounded knowledge of how an advice business operated. He has since and continues to study to ensure his knowledge and skills are as good as possible to benefit our clients. He firmly believes in our businesses approach to financial advice by focusing on long time planning around clients' goals." 

Will is an ardent believer in ongoing financial advice to provide the best outcome for clients. 

He says: "For me, financial advice should never be a transactional event. It is about working with people to understand their goals and intentions to support them throughout their journey towards retirement and beyond. No conversation is the same and it is important to ensure the depth and understanding in those conversations is developed to provide the best solutions for any given situation.
