What's on in Oakham this weekend: explore Oakham, feast on tea and cakes, and enjoy live music
There are a range of events to keep the whole family entertained on a budget this weekend, from a trip to Rutland Water Sailing Club, an historic tour of Oakham, or live music from local favourites, Freudian Slippers.
Walking Tour of Oakham
Discover historic Oakham with an experienced Oakham Castle guide and then enjoy tea and cake at the popular Castle Cottage Café.
This will take place on Saturday the 6th of August from 2.30pm until 4pm.
Tickets are £14 per adult, and £8 per child.

Oakham Town Crier
On Saturday the 6th of August, Adam Lowe will be 'crying' in Oakham Market Place.
This will begin at 10.30am at the Town Pump and is a free community event.
Rutland Sailing Club Sailability Regatta
On Saturday the 6th and Sunday the 7th of August, Rutland Sailing Club are hosting the RYA Multiclass Regatta.
There will be a range of sailors competing in this accessible sailing event, including wheelchair users.

Rutland Water Beach at Sykes Lane is also now open.

Freudian Slippers at Cutts Close
On Sunday the 7th of August, Freudian Slippers will be the guest band playing at Oakham Town Council's Sunday Concert in Cutts Close.
They will be performing in the bandstand from 2:30pm until 4:30pm.
Guests to the event will be able to buy ice-cream, food, join in fundraising for the Rutland Girlguides, and more.
This event is free.
