What's on in Oakham this weekend: cycling, gardening, dog agility and live music events

International Agility Festival
From the 11th to the 14th of August 2022, the International Agility Festival will take place at Rutland Showground.
Come along and watch some fantastic displays of agility for only the car parking fee of £5.
This event is open to all dogs.
Due to the heat, this year the festival will be starting from 7am most days, to ensure that the main events are all completed before lunchtime.

Summer Vegetable Weekend at Barnsdale Gardens
If you love growing your own food then Barnsdale is the place to be on Saturday the 13th and Sunday the 14th of August 2022.
For visitors in attendance on Sunday, Susie will lead tours of Barnsdale's veg and fruit growing areas, at 12pm & 2pm.
The Helenium Tea Room kitchen will provide tasty bites to try all made from our produce and children can take part in potting/sowing their own vegetable plants to take home.

Oakham in Bloom Family Environment Day
Oakham in Bloom is holding an Environment Day on Saturday 13th August in the Catmose Arboretum from 1pm to 4 pm.
This is an event open to all Primary School age children accompanied by a responsible adult.
Activities include creating bug homes, an anti-litter posters competition, bark and leaf rubbing and walks through the arboretum - and more!
Admission is free, but voluntary donations will be collected in aid of the Oakham Daffodil Trail.

August Oakham Gravel Ride
Taking place on Saturday 13th August and free to join, Sigma Sports will be hosting their August Gravel ride from their Oakham-based store.
The ride comprises of two different groups, leisurely and fast, leaving the store at approximately 9am. Each ride will have a non-drop policy, with the focus of this ride being to meet new people and explore the local roads.
Both groups one and two will cover the same 51 kilometre route. On completing this loop, the riders will return for some well deserved refreshments at the Sigma Sports Oakham store.

There will also be the weekly addition of live music in Cutts Close on Sunday the 14th of August. This week Hathern Band will be playing from 2:30 - 4:30pm.
